Repair of a water-damaged ceiling including removal of blown plaster, boarding and skimming.
A slow leak from a bathroom above had caused a section of the bedroom ceiling to become soft and discoloured. The damaged area was cut back to a sound edge, a new plasterboard patch was fitted, and the entire ceiling was skimmed to a smooth finish. The surrounding area was blended so the repair was invisible once painted.
Scope of works
- Cut back damaged ceiling plaster to sound edges
- Fit new plasterboard patch
- Tape and joint the patch
- Skim entire ceiling to blend repair
- Clean down and prepare for decoration
