2. Quote. You get a written, itemised quote covering materials, labour and how long the job should take. No obligation.

3. Protect and prepare. Floors and fittings are covered, loose or blown material is removed, and surfaces are prepared properly. Preparation is where most finishes are won or lost.

4. Carry out the work. We work in sequence so each coat is applied at the right stage, and we keep you informed if anything unexpected turns up behind the old surface.

5. Clear up and check. Waste is removed, the area is left clean, and we walk the finished work with you before we leave.

How long before I can decorate?

Fresh plaster needs to be fully dry before it is painted, and drying time depends on thickness, ventilation and the time of year — typically several days to a couple of weeks. We'll tell you what to expect for your specific job, and it is worth waiting: painting too early traps moisture and can spoil the finish.

Do I need to move out while the work is done?

Usually not. Most rooms can be worked on one at a time, and we cover floors and fittings before starting. Larger whole-house projects are easier if the rooms being worked on are clear.

Who clears up afterwards?

We do. Waste and old material are removed and the area is left swept and clean as part of the job, not as an extra.
